One of the many ways GSAP supports rural and impoverished communities is by providing business opportunities via our MAKER-LENDER program. This program, seeded and trained via GSAP, is a sustainable system of lending, with training and building tools to bring micro-flush biofil composting toilets into communities lacking in basic sanitation. The program, once implemented, can grow without additional infusions of capital: native apprentices are trained and later become trainers and/or lenders themselves— empowering the next generation of MAKERS, and lifting communities out of poverty and unsafe sanitation practices.
The GSAP toilets are no-odor, no-fly composting toilets that need no significant maintenance for 5 years. Learn more about them here.
