Dr. Stephen Mecca, GSAP President and Board of Directors
Stephen Mecca has been a Professor in the Department of Engineering- Physics-Systems at Providence College for nearly 50 years. He is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Ghana and a Trustee of Radford University in Ghana. He holds a doctorate in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and has served as a consultant to government, industry and the private sector, in addition to working on projects for NATO, the US Department of Energy and NASA.
In addition to teaching, Mecca currently directs research in the S-Lab focusing on: environmental engineering, water resource management, and rural sanitation and education. He has authored and coauthored numerous articles and three books in the fields of Systems Analysis, Energy Management and Computer Science. Over the past 9 years his lab developed an off-grid sustainable toilet system for rural communities in the developing world, and is working under a Grand Challenges Award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through the Global Sustainable Aid Project.
Steve and his wife, Linda, have 3 children, 6 granddaughters and a grandson. He is member and past president of the Jamestown Rotary Club and makes his home in Jamestown, Rhode Island.
Eric Agyemang, Country Director for Ghana
Eric Agyemang was appointed Ghana Country Director in September 2012.
Geoffrey was appointed the GSAP Kenya Director in 2015.

Hannah Davis, GSAP Founder, Technology, Consultant, Board of Directors
Hannah Davis is a programmer and musician based in NYC. She founded GSAP and was the Executive Director for its first seven years, helping put structures in place for social and financial sustainability. She has an undergraduate degree in International Development from NYU and a master’s in Interactive Technology, also from NYU. Her current work in artificial intelligence and generative music can be found at www.hannahishere.
Alyssa Davis, Co-founder, Pokuasi Jewelry, Board of Directors
Alyssa joined GSAP in September 2009.
Richard Dwyer, Board of Directors
Rick is a co-founder of halix.io, a startup focused on building a technology and service platform to help small businesses succeed. Halix.io is his third startup in a career as a software developer and entrepreneur that’s spanned over 25 years. Between building companies, Rick worked at Ford Motor Company, Digital Equipment Corporation, Apple, Follett Corporation, and most recently spent a few years as a stay-at-home dad – the best and toughest job he’s ever had. Rick is excited to use his energy, talents, and resources to help make the world a better place. He received his undergraduate degree in Applied Math from Harvard University and his Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Management and Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Rick lives south of Boston with his wife and family.
Dr. Terence McGoldrick, Board of Directors
Dr. Terence McGoldrick is a Theologian and associate professor at Providence College, who researches development ethics, business ethics and Catholic Social Thought, as well as the Christian Spirituality of Francis de Sales. He is the Associate Director of Providence College’s Ethics in Business Education Program and author of numerous scholarly publication in his field. His doctorate is from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
